While the filling is for sure a vital part, make no mistake; the pie crust needs to hold its own too. We think it’s more important than the apple filling. I mean, what’s the part you taste first? How to Make Apple Pie Pops

Here’s a simple, but delicious guilt-free apple pie recipe you and the family will be sure to love. Or make a batch just for yourself, we’re not judging. The best part about this recipe is there are no fancy techniques to learn. You don’t have to have a culinary degree to whip up these golden babies.

Follow the recipe as-is, with one slight tweak: we’re making pops, not a whole pie. Flour an area large enough to lay the dough out, or you can use parchment paper. Using a cookie cutter (or the open side of a 1-cup measuring cup works also), cut out round pieces that will serve as your mini-pie “shells.”

One note of caution: When adding the filling, be sure not to fill the center too much. You want to leave enough room for closure on the sides, without the sauce bursting out. Then press the sides closed using the tip of a fork to create a cute pie design. Brush on some melted butter to give them a yummy buttery flavor with a crispy texture.

Before popping them in the oven, slide lollipop sticks from one edge through to the center of the round. Since these babies are much smaller than a full pie, you’ll only need to bake them for 12-15 minutes. Once golden brown, let them cool and then enjoy!
